Discourse Through Social Media
When we think of discourse, we think of speaking or talking to another person. Therefore, when we think of discourse through social media, we’re literally talking about speaking through the use of various forms of social media. Social media, in this case can refer to anything such as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Mybloglog, SutmbleUpon or any of those other blogging types of media. The purpose of all of these social media sites is to foster the ability to socialize with other people on the Internet through written form. It’s pretty cool actually. If you’ve ever written someone an email and gotten a response back, then consider yourself an active member of this society of social media users. Social media can be a great thing because it generates the communication of ideas, thoughts and other things between people. This exhange of ideas and information encourages the whole "networking" idea, which is the point of the Internet. So, in other words, it’s a great thing. Get out there and make friends!
